  In 1987 Sonia Bellavia graduates in stage decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and in 1994 she obtains the University Degree (magna cum laude) at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in Theatre History. In 1999 obtains the PHD in History of Modern and Contemporary Theatre at the University of Salerno and one year later she earns an OeAD scholarship of nine months and moves to Vienna (Universitaet Wien). From 2001 until 2007 Sonia Bellavia works as teacher for the subject of Theater History at the university of Rome “Sapienza” and university of “Studi Orientali” in Naples. In 2007 she wins the national competition for the employement at the università of Rome “Sapienza” as researcher in History of Modern and Contemporary Theatre. Three years later her position was confirmed. Associate professor since september 2019. Among her works: Vienna e la Duse (1892-1909), Edizioni di Pagina 2017; La Voce del Gesto.
