Stefania Onesti, PhD, is research fellow at the University of Padua where she also teaches “Theatre and Performing arts Methodology”. In 2020 she obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for the role of Associate Professor of History of Theatre (L-ART/05). She is a member of the editorial board of the journal «Danza e ricerca». She is the author of Dalla danza al teatro (e viceversa) le curatele I passi della danza. Indagini sulla creazione coreica (Edizioni di Pagina, 2022) and Di passi, di storie e di passioni. Teorie e pratiche del ballo teatrale nel secondo Settecento italiano (Accademia University Press, 2016). She also wrote several articles on Salvatore Viganò and his family.

Abstract

The paper traces the Pellandi-Blanes company’s activity between 1812 and 1816. The text aims to demonstrate how the training provided by Anna Fiorilli Pellandi e Paolo Belli Blanes proved to be a springboard and, in some cases, a real “school” for the younger actors of the company. The article is completed with two appendices devoted to the chronology of the company and its repertoire reconstruction.
